He wishes he hadn't looked into the Corsica. This makes him scared and reminds him of his past events. In the end of this chapter something makes Brady lean to look at the water. Although my story isn't as traumatic as Brady's it still made me upset to not get a part. I remember I was crying for a little while because I thought about all the lines an songs Samantha would get to do and all I would do would be standing and dancing in the back, behind everyone. My annoyance eventually turned into sadness though. I was annoyed at first because I though I deserved a part also. A time in my life where I felt mad and then sad was my sister got a part in the play and I only got in the background. He is bottling up all his feelings inside because he doesn't want to tell anyone it could be partly his fault. He is a jumble of emotions and feels extremely guilty. In this chapter Brady finds out that Ben passed away. Even though most information is usually true, like in this case, there is always some details that are not added. Newspapers tend to do this to stories to make them more interesting for the reader. It seems as if Brady was perfectly calm and quick thinking, while in reality he was so panicked that he dropped his phone in the river. Poor Ben almost died and they make the extremely traumatic time on the river sound like Brady wasn't even nervous or confused. Although this scene was dramatic they jazzed it up more then it had to be. Another part of the article that should have been changed was the part with the dramatic details. Brady left out that information because he did not want to be blamed for such a horrible incident. Was the fact that they were on the river Brady's fault? Maybe. DiAngelo and Ben were on the river, but it didn't say why. The newspaper left out some very important information. Although, I believe the way Brady rescued Ben was heroic I also believe that it was partly Brady's fault in the first place. In this book a newspaper article retells the story of Brady rescuing Ben in the river in a heroic way. As you can see all of this was just fate and it could have ended way better or much worse. The result of the situation could have happened much differently if it weren't for these people and their heroic or unintelligent acts. Tilly- If Tilly didn't bark to the bushes Brady wouldn't have noticed poor Ben's small body floating, attached to a branch in the river. This would have prevented them from getting into the accident. Mr DiAngelo- If Mr DiAngelo didn't move to this spot on the river his wife and Ben would not have been able to be on the river that tragic day. Mrs DiAngelo- It was not smart of her to go out on the river alone WITH A BABY especially when it was about to storm and the currents were strongĭigger- If Digger hadn't been mad at the DiAngelo's Mr DiAngelo would not have gone out on the river in the kayakīrady- If he hadn't been dismissed from school no one would have found Ben and Ben's death would be a mystery If there were a couple characters that could have done something differently it would have been these people. The outcome of the story has been pretty tragic so far between Ben and his mother almost dying. I am ready to find out what will happen in this intriguing story. Clearly, I learned many things from this video and it really got me anxious to read the book. I also think that the location of the bay might be important to how the people live in the story and what their favorite activities are. I think the currents in the Chesapeake Bay will be a very important part of this book. Although we learned that there can be strong currents in areas of the bay that haven't been touched in 1000's of years. As you might already know, you are able to go kayaking. They make bridges high up that allow boats and cars to pass through because it is such a busy area. You can also use boats on the Chesapeake Bay. There are multiple towns and cities along the bay where people live, work, and play. Many animals live in the calming waters and cliffs, but people do also. The most important facts about the Chesapeake Bay is that it is located in Maryland. Chesapeake Bay is an extremely vast area of marshland, creeks, and rivers. This is a description I have made of it in my mind of the bay. I have learned many things about Chesapeake Bay from the video we viewed today.
